Aston Dobson | Company Director & Singer

Company Director & Singer. Based in Hampshire, Aston has worked in the entertainment industry for nearly 20 years, and knows how to please a crowd! His experience in the industry has seen him perform on stages worldwide, From London’s West End to New York City.

“As company director, I am here to work with you to make sure you get nothing but the best for your event!. I have been a performer all my life, in everything from large scale theatre productions to huge corporate events and weddings parties”

Over the last decade, Aston has built a sterling reputation within the industry as a hard working professional. His vocal talents have seen him share a stage with the likes of Craig David, Taio Cruise, Josh Groban, Snow Patrol, Andy Williams, The Saturdays, Biffy Clyro and even Chaz & Dave! Aston was also once the opening act for Nelly Furtado at the Sao Carlos Opera House in Lisbon!

Singing Surprise have also had the privilege of performing at events for many house hold names! Such as TV star Bradley Walsh, Hollywood actress – Kate Winslet, Pop sensation – Sophie Ellis Bextor, Professional footballing legend Kenny Dalglish and Eastenders own Mr Richard Blackwood to name just a few!

Arif - Saxophone & Singing Surprise!

Arif is a talented and versatile performer. His talents seem to know no end. Amazing singer? Check! Gifted sax player? Check! Plays keyboard as well? Check! And you should see his dance moves!

– Received a Ronnie Scott jazz scholarship

– Graduated from Leeds College of Music

– Offers a wide range of genres, especially jazz, funk, soul and Motown

– Has toured in Germany and Italy and has even performed at The Royal Albert Hall

– Appeared as Prince on ITV’s Stars In Their Eyes

– In recent years has performed as both a singer and saxophonist at both Victorious and Isle Of Wight festivals

– Worked as saxophonist, vocalist and pianist for Holland America Lines, playing in both the cocktail and nightclub bands, cruising Alaska, the US west coast, Mexico and Hawaii

Lauren - Saxophone & Singing Surprise!

Lauren works as both a professional musician and as a singer. Her love for live music and playing sax came from her Dad playing with a Big Band when she was growing up, and has progressed from there! She loves playing rock ‘n’ roll, swing, jazz, and funky pop- or anything with a wailing sax part!

Lauren has been lucky enough to play instruments throughout her career in touring productions including Dreamboats and Petticoats, Miss Nightingale and Gatsby!

With a fantastic voice, Lauren also sings with big bands, function bands and on stage in production shows.

Lauren can offer something really special to any Singing Surprise. If you would like an additional set of live music played during the afternoon of your event, or as your guests are arriving. Then booking a Singer who also plays saxophone is the perfect solution! Lauren can perform a live saxophone set during the day and later, join a team of singers on stage for another impressive live show!

Neil - Singing Surprise!

Neil has recently finished playing the role of Frankie Valli in the hit West End and Broadway musical Jersey Boys. He spent 5 years with the show in the West End and touring around the UK and Ireland.

Theatre Credits include: Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys (Piccadilly Theatre & UK Tour), Jesus Christ Superstar (Barbican Theatre), Les Misérables (Queen’s Theatre); Floyd Collins (Southwark Playhouse); A Christmas Carol (Lichfield Garrick); The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (Union Theatre); Cinderella (Beck Theatre); Broadway to West End(Theatre Royal Drury Lane); Young Fred in Fred Astaire: His Daughter’s Tribute, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang(original London cast) and Scrooge (all at the London Palladium); Peter Pan (Richmond Theatre); Harry’s Webb(original cast – Theatre Royal Windsor) and Chip in Beauty and the Beast (original London cast – Dominion Theatre).

Debbie - Singing Surprise!

Debbie has been performing for well over a decade in shows and tours in prestigious venues across all 7 continents and is also a session vocalist. She spent 2 years playing the lead role of “Oz/Meatloaf” in the Queen & Ben Elton musical “We will rock you”.

David - Singing Surprise!

After receiving his BA Hons in Musical Theatre at GSA (Guildford School Of Acting) David has worked professionally as a vocalist on multiple prestigious stages around the world. Appearing in countless professional theatre productions from Londons West End, to cruise ships all over the globe! David also studied at Associated Studios in London and has been a consistent touring singer in shows large and small for over a decade!

David has been with the Singing Surprise team since 2019 and loves every minute entertaining and performing for unsuspecting guests at weddings and parties!

When he’s not undercover as a waiter, David can be found performing with ‘Who Loves You’ & ‘The Vintage Boys Rock and Roll Show’.

Leona - Singing Surprise!

Leona trained at the London School of Musical Theatre and has spent the last ten years working as a professional singer. Combining her love of performing and travel, her work has seen her perform all over the world as a lead production vocalist for various cruise liners including P&O and Carnival.

She regularly performs all over the UK with a live band and as part of an Abba theatre tour.

Melania - Singing Surprise! + Guitarist & Violinist!

Melania is one of those people you can’t help but love! A charming performer and a multi talented one at that!

Sublime vocals? Check! Stunning violinist? Check! impressive guitarist? Check!

Melania is originally from Italy but now lives in London, her performance background is both extensive and impressive.

What really makes her stand out as part of a singing surprise is her versatility. A Violin is such a classy and elegant additional touch for any surprise and is well suited to those who choose a more classic style of music to entertain their guests.

Chez - Saxophone Surprise!

Chez has an addiction to jazz, funk and soul. Doubling sax with flute, and clarinet has led her to play such main stages as Wembley Stadium (London), The NIA (Birmingham), Newton’s Nation (Australia), Alliance Francaise (Zambia) and many more. Her performances have been acclaimed by the likes of The British Arts Council and The BBC.
